Multi-zone audio playout for permanent AV installations, with automatic hot-backup failover
AudioPlayerPlus is multi-zone audio playout software for museums, visitor centres, exhibitions and control rooms. One Windows workstation drives every zone in the building from a single audio interface and a single clock, playing to schedule or on cue from a show controller, and is built to run unattended for years at a time.
Each zone has its own playlists, transport and channel routing, from mono up to 32 channels. Tracks carry in and out points, gain, fades, loop settings and OSC commands fired at chosen moments, all controllable over OSC alongside assignable hotkeys and a live monitor for commissioning.
A second machine can run alongside as a hot backup. It checks the main machine's audio over the Dante network rather than relying on a heartbeat, and switches the Dante matrix, a Kramer matrix or a hardware relay on handover, typically inside 1.2 seconds. Installation mode locks the configuration down for unattended running.

Questions
- How is AudioPlayerPlus licensed?
- It requires internet access at start-up for license validation, then runs for up to 30 days offline before it needs to check in again. For offline installations we could provide offline licensing.
- How does Installation mode work?
- It opens the project, starts audio and runs startup actions automatically, with the interface locked to Dashboard-only operation and a password-protected configuration lock.
- What audio hardware does it need?
- Any WASAPI-capable device works, but an ASIO interface is needed in practice for more than two channels or low-latency playout. Optional Dante or Kramer hardware extends matrix control and failover.
- Do I need a second machine?
- No. AudioPlayerPlus runs on a single workstation. A second, matching machine is optional, for sites that need automatic hot-backup failover.
- What happens if the main machine goes silent?
- The backup machine corroborates the silence against the Dante network before acting, then switches over, typically within about 1.2 seconds, muting outputs and switching the matrix or relay as configured.
